Kristofer Wåhlander is a is a Swedish conductor, who has been active in Russia for many years. He founded the Saint Petersburg Festival Orchestra in Russia in 2001. In the fall of 2018, he also took over as a principal of the School of Culture in the municipality of Kävlinge.

In their turn, Ukrainian authorities warned that any participation in the electoral process in Crimea would be illegal.
