She is member of the Italy-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group and member of PACE in the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights (since 2018), and Sub-Committee on Human Rights (since 2019). Maria Rizzotti was elected to the Senate in 2008 and 2013.
