Alain Marleix is a former member of the French National Assembly first elected in 1993 and then reelected in 1997, 2002, 2007, and 2012. He was a member of the European Parliament between 1985 and 1993. He was the Secretary of State for the Interior and Territorial Communities in the government of François Fillon from 2008 to 2010 and Mayor of Massiac from 1995 to 2008. Merleix, as well as Di Borgo, participated in Thierry Mariani’s propagandistic trip to Moscow in December 2015. Since 2016, Marleix is a Regional Councillor of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
