Andrejs Mamikins is a Latvian Russian politician and journalist, a former member of the European Parliament (2014–2019). He has been involved in numerous pro-Kremlin activities in Latvia and beyond, in particular attempting to discredit Latvia for its integration policies towards the Russian-speaking minority and promoting Russian interpretations of contemporary history. In 2016, together with two other members of the European Parliament, he visited Syria to meet with Head of State Bashar al-Assad. In 2018, he announced his resignation from the party.
