Dietmar Friedhoff joined the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) / Alternative for Germany in 2013 and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017. He has been the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development in the 19th (2017-2021) and 20th (2021-2025) German Bundestag. In addition, Dietmar Friedhoff is a deputy member of the Defense Committee and the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid, among others. He consistently called for the lifting of "anti-Russian" sanctions.
